(UPM, Lahti, 7 January 2010) UPM introduces WISA-Parquet Core plywood component for the engineered flooring industry. The new product enables faster and more efficient production process of 3-layer parquet by replacing sawn strips and back face veneer with one component.
WISA-Parquet Core is made of high quality spruce plywood providing an even base for gluing and allowing use of even thinner top layers than before. Click-joints can be machined to WISA-Parquet Core without using any reinforcements. Also it enables flexible board sizes and it can even be re-machined from the middle of the board in order to reduce material waste during production. The structure has been bonded with light colour glue achieving a solid wood look to the component. Required properties of critical straightness from parquet board are easily delivered with WISA-Parquet Core.
WISA-Parquet Core is always tailored according to the customer's requirements. This allows significant cost savings to be achieved through: minimised need of glue reduced material stocks shorter lead times less waste The spruce raw material used in all WISA parquet component manufacturing has been logged from sustainably managed PEFC certified forests.
UPM will introduce WISA-Parquet Core, WISA-Parquet Edge and in addition to its other key products for parquet industry at Domotex Flooring Material Exhibition in Hannover, Germany 16-19 of January 2010. UPM's stand will be located in Hall 9, stand C34.
