UPM Plywood has been working with wood for a century now. During this time we have gained a profound knowledge of wood, its characteristics and possibilities and its use in combination with other materials in various end-uses.

From the very beginning innovations have been highly focused upon and development is part of our daily processes. Since our R&D department was established, some 40 years ago, R&D work has been conducted even more systematically. Combining latest scientific knowledge with our long experience in plywood and veneer panels and we keep our product range up-to-date and ready to meet new challenges and introduce new products.

To ensure the required performance – and to meet your specific needs – we constantly test and develop our plywood products. We put our efforts on the areas you find important; strength, durability and surface properties, bearing in mind efficient and economical production as well as the environmental aspects.

R&D work is supported by scientific outsourcing to universities and research institutes in Europe. The tests are carried out according to the latest national and international standards together with our clients' specific requirements.
