The Specification of WISA plywood has never been easier! Whether you are designing or specifying for environmental schemes like BREEAM or LEED or to local building regulations, we have the tools to make the process efficient.
Handbook of Finnish plywood is a good booklet to get basic information on Finnish plywood, but if you need specific data for any calculation etc. please search for relevant Declaration of Performance. The handbook was prepared by the Finnish Forest Industries Federation in co-operations with Finnish plywood manufacturers in 2007.
WISA Architects' Guide is a brochure designed specifically to help UK's architects and specifiers to select the right type of plywood for the application they have in mind.
BRE Greenbook Live - For those specifications focusing on Environmental performance to meet various levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes WISA-Spruce and WISA-Sprucefloor environmental ratings are listed in the Greenbook live in a multitude of building elements.
RIBA - WISA plywoods are also listed in the RIBA Product Selector and the National Building Specification so the information is readily available when writing specifications.
CE marking and DoPs
DoP (Declaration of Performance) states product properties and performance according to the European Union Construction Product Regulation which became effective in July 2013. According to the regulation all construction products sold in EU countries and which remain permanently in the construction must be CE marked in accordance with the regulation. These CE marked products must also have Declaration of Performance easily available for consumers.
The complete list of UPM's plywood products' DoPs is available on our website.
If you don't have the exact DoP number at hand, the reference list helps you to find the relevant DoP you need. Please note that the product type and product name might have several DoP numbers depending on the e.g. the panel thickness, use, structure or finish.
Most common DoPs in the UK:
UPM001CPR (for WISA-Spruce Special, WISA-Form MDO and WISA-Spruce/thick veneer construction) (pdf)
UPM002CPR (for WISA-Spruce/thin veneer construction (pdf)
UPM006CPR (for WISA-Sprucefloor) (pdf)
UPM007CPR (for WISA-Birch) (pdf)
UPM012CPR (for WISA-Twin) (pdf)
